2010 VSP Karting Divisions| All minor age drivers must have a birth certificate on file. Age is determined by the age the driver will be on July 1st, 2010. If you are of age for a class by the first race of the season you may race that class the whole season. If you will be the age of the class by July 1st you may start racing in that class the first race of the season. | | Beginner box stock: 225 lbs, 5-8 years old. Silver Box stock restrictor plate. (THIS CLASS IS A NON-POINTS CLASS MEANT FOR UNEXPERIENCED AND LEARNING RACERS | | Beginner flat head: 225 lbs, 5-8 yr, VSP silver restrictor plate. 16:64 gear rule. (THIS CLASS IS A NON-POINTS CLASS MEANT FOR UNEXPERIENCED AND LEARNING RACERS.) | | ALL JR. CLASSES (other than beginners) MUST BE ON VEGA TIRES. | | Purple ~ Flat 265 lbs 8-10 years old | | Blue ~ Flat 275 lbs / Animal 290 lbs 10-12 years old | | Gold ~ Animal 320 lbs / Flat UNRESTRICTED 320 lbs ~ 12-15 years old | | Junior Box Stock – 275 lbs, purple restrictor plate, EL tires, 16:64 gear rule ~ 8-12 years old | | ADULT CLASSES OPEN TIRE RULE EXCEPT NO FIRESTONES. | | Animal 330 ~ 330 lbs | | Raptor 330 ~ 330 lbs | | Animal 375 ~ 375 lbs | | Raptor 375 ~ 375 lbs | | Limited Modified ~ Flat 350 lbs | Limited Modified / Animal 365 lbs | | The intent for the box stock classes is to go to the EL tire. We will start the season offering a class for both tires, with the intention of being all EL tires by June 12, 2010. If we can implement sooner, we will. PREFER EVERYONE TO BE ON EL’S AT THE START OF THE SEASON. You will not run combined.
